Into February

What a beautiful weekend! It's amazing when 30-40 degrees feels like a heat wave. I haven't been very good about updating the blog, but thanks for checking back if you're reading this. BBY layoffs will occur on Feb 19. While I am concerned, I'm not overly worried as there's not much I can do if my name is on the dreaded list. I'll just deal with whatever comes my way...On a brighter note, Keira is doing fantastic! Mark got her bundled to go outside and she had a fabulous time today. Check out some of these cute snapshots.

Things to Remember

Here are some highlights of Keira's antics recently.
  • Keira said two full sentences in the past week including, "Mommy, I see you." and "I did it." I was shocked to hear her really talking, but am so proud of her too - wow!
  • She's cutting her i-teeth on the top (I think those are the pointy ones, right?)
  • Her hair is finally starting to grow...slowly, but surely. She loves wearing this headband she received at a recent birthday party.
  • Keira's finally starting to wear some size 18-month clothes. The length is a little long, but not too bad. She's still really skinny though so sometimes it looks like she's swimming in her clothes.

A Busy Weekend

This weekend has been the busiest since we rang in 2009. Friday night I helped one of my best friends, Heather, celebrate her birthday. We had a great dinner with a couple of friends at Cantina #1 at the MOA and then headed downtown for the rest of the night. We started out with drinks at Solera and ended the night at Barrio. It was quite the night and we were in great company. The birthday girl had a blast and that's all that matters. Happy Birthday Heather!

Saturday I went with Linh to get a pedicure - it was Linh's treat. Lucky me! That was during the day. Afterwards we came back home and hung out with Keira for most of the afternoon. Miss Laura came by that night to babysit Keira so Mark and I could go to the Wild game. We played Anaheim and unfortunately, the Wild played horribly and we lost 3-0. That was the first game I've ever been to where the Wild didn't score at least one goal. I was disappointed not to hear the horn go off.

Today we went to Jalen's 4th birthday party and had a great time. As always, Pam and Ed threw a great party and kept things running smoothly despite all the kids running around. And, now, the work week begins again.
